Long time coming… welcome Nick!

September 29, 2026

Somehow, in the whirlwind of being happily busy, we realised we’d missed something fairly important: officially introducing Nick! He joined the Painted Dog pack months ago now, but fitted in so seamlessly that it feels like he’s been part of the furniture for much longer. So, while the welcome may be well overdue, we’re very glad to finally make it official.

Nick brings more than seven years of research experience to the team, along with a real passion for getting under the skin of his clients’ businesses and becoming a genuine extension of their teams. A true dualist researcher, he’s equally at home across qualitative and quantitative research, with experience spanning creative testing, U&A, choice modelling, customer journey mapping, brand equity and design research.

Beyond his client work, Nick is also a passionate advocate for the research industry and helping the next generation discover where a career in research can take them. This year, he’s shared his experience with psychology students at the University of Melbourne and marketing students at Monash University through industry workshops. We’re very happy to have him in the pack and, several months in, it’s hard to imagine the place without him!

This was how his first week went, way back when:

1. Why Painted Dog? What attracted you to us?
What attracted me to Painted Dog wasn’t one single thing, but a combination of things. The opportunity to work alongside the leaders who founded the business nearly 20 years ago and who remain just as passionate about it today was incredibly compelling.
Painted Dog is also at an exciting point in its journey, with a clear direction and a strong point of difference. I was drawn to the opportunity to help build on that momentum, continuing to deliver best in class work for existing clients while growing relationships with new ones.

2. What are you most excited about / looking forward to in your role?
I’m most excited about working with the fantastic team here at Painted Dog. There is such a broad range of experience, expertise and perspectives across the business. I’m looking forward to working with the team to deliver great work for our clients.
I’m also excited to share my own experience and expertise to mentor and develop the next generation of researchers at Painted Dog.

3. What was the highlight of your first week?
As part of the induction process, I was given a series of questions to help me learn more about the team and the Painted Dog business. It has been a great way to spark conversations with new colleagues, learn more about the people I’ll be working with and start building relationships from day one.

4. Best piece of advice you’ve received from another staff member so far?
“We love to collaborate at Painted Dog, so tap into the team and ask questions.”
