It’s Census Day!

For most people, the Census is something that happens every five years. For us researchers, it’s one of the datasets we come back to again and again.

At Painted Dog, we use Census data every day to help design research that reflects Aussies – from understanding who lives where, to setting sample targets and making sure the people we hear from are representative of the broader community.

Having a reliable picture of our population is fundamental to producing research that can be trusted.

So today, we’re celebrating the Census – and the millions of Australians whose participation helps make better evidence, better decisions, and better research possible.
