From barks to business: Scruffy’s office chronicles
February 19, 2025
It’s always a great day in the office when someone bring in their pet. Bill—one of our resident data experts, a business analyst, and an all-around legend—and his fiancée recently adopted a Greyhound and have opened their hearts and home to hound life.
Scruffy, a 6yo racing retiree (retired at 3yo) bounded into the office and met each staff member with enthusiasm, giving each of us a sniff and a tail wag of approval. Possibly more enthusiasm was shown to each of our desk bins which Scruffy sniffed out with what can only be described as well contained glee. She might be a sighthound, but the nose got a good workout!
Efficiency and overall mood for the team sky-rocketed as Scruffy trotted through the office, checking in on staff (their bins) and assessing wellbeing (their lunches). She joined meetings and happily fell asleep on the floor even though her adopted Dad was not in the room. When he did join the room however, she lit up and immediately demanded his undivided attention. The facial expressions are markedly different during and post attention:

Here she is boosting team morale:

We hope Scruffy will return to Painted Dog asap.
