New kid on the block!
January 17, 2025
For long-standing readers of the blog, you’ll know we love nothing more than introducing new staff – and this one is a little different. Drum roll for Stephan who started with us full time this year.
Stephan became aware of us through our internship program and approached us to see if we could help him out. Upon meeting him we were very keen to offer him a desk to complete his contact hours for uni but the 80 hours required were over within the blink of an eye and we had to have some serious conversations about this guy… could we stand to lose him? We really didn’t want to. Whilst his internship covered a broad range of Market Research and what we do day-to-day from the consulting side, his background and interests put him in a unique position to allow our Data Technology team to offer him a position. To say they were stoked is an understatement.
Our Data Tech team is a bit of an elite unit within Painted Dog – we greatly rely on them day to day and they are solid all rounders / staff favourites. Their names constantly splash our ‘kicking goals’ teams channel – shout outs for sharp thinking, strategic approach, big team-player energy and all-round nice guy vibes. Stephan you’re going to fit right in!
Couldn’t be happier to welcome you to the team full time – thanks for choosing us for your internship! Take a read below to learn a little more about Stephan.

Why Painted Dog? What attracted you to us?
During my last semester at uni I was unsure what would be a good internship that fit with my interests, personality and values. After looking for some weeks, my boss at the time mentioned Painted Dog, who they were, and what they did. After researching them, meeting the team and having the opportunity to complete my internship here – I was attracted to their work environment, the culture, and the opportunities and knowledge they offered.
What are you most excited about / looking forward to in your role?
I just want to learn as much as I can and to feel confident when helping both clients and the rest of the pack. Hopefully in the meantime I’ll get many more new skills under my belt.
What was the highlight of your first week?
Quick beer/lunch break at the Garden during a sunny Tuesday with the DT team.
Best piece of advice you received from another staff member so far?
Zach has been super helpful since I started – he’s advised me how to best organise emails and reassured me that asking a lot of questions is better than not asking questions at all.
