Biden Captures WA’s Vote

It’s been a huge week for the US (and global) political landscape, with the Democrats’ Joe Biden winning the US election with 290 electoral college votes to 217, and 50.8% of the popular vote to Donald Trump’s 47.5% – pending recounts and a bombardment of law suits!
For a bit of fun, we thought we’d ask Western Australians how they’d vote if they lived in the US. The result was even more comprehensive, with Joe Biden winning almost two thirds of the ‘popular vote’ among a sample of n=628 West Aussies…
Unlike the US, the results were incredibly consistent across WA age, gender, income and location demographics.
Of course, this all now begs the question… who would win between Joe Biden and Mark McGowan for WA Premier? Now there’s a contest!
