Human Insights Conference 2024
August 19, 2024
Exciting news! Next week, some of our team are headed to the Human Insights Conference in Sydney – where not only will we hear from some of the best minds in our profession, but we’ll be presenting to them, too! Connecting with other research and insight-curious professionals helps us to stay at the top of our game, so we’re more than excited for this year’s Conference.
This year, we’re extremely grateful to have had two papers accepted, with their lead authors being invited to take centre stage across the 2-day research extravaganza. The first of our speakers is the Senior Executive Director of our Melbourne office, Arletta, who is presenting a paper alongside Vienna, titled “What’s Your Gender? Thinking Outside the Checkbox.” We’ve got a sneak-peak of what they’re in store for below!
As the world of research evolves, so must our approach to gender inclusivity. At the Human Insights Conference 2024, Painted Dog Research will uncover how far the industry has come – and more importantly, where it needs to go next. This isn’t just about ticking boxes; it’s about reshaping how we think, ask, and interpret gender in our research. Expect to walk away with not just a deeper understanding, but actionable strategies to future-proof your surveys and insights. Ready to lead the change? Join us for a conversation that could redefine the future of insights.
Our second presentation is being delivered by Bill – one of our Business Analysts in Perth. He’ll be presenting a paper very creatively titled “Monte Carlo: More than just a delicious biscuit”. Confused (but intrigued) by the name? In short, it’s a discussion of improved methods for calculating ROI – but take a read below:
With Australia’s ad market expected to soar to $28b AUD by 2024, understanding the accuracy of Return on Investment (ROI) calculations is crucial. Current methodology often relies on extrapolation of survey data to the broader population and can suffer from a sometimes-unknown margin of error. Modern computing offers improved techniques such as Monte Carlo simulation to better understand and quantify this uncertainty. Painted Dog Research explores the limitations of existing practices, and goes one step further to introduce bootstrapping as a potential solution. Join us to see how the cookie crumbles!
We’re immensely proud of Arletta, Bill and Vienna – and know they’ll do Painted Dog proud. We wish you the best of luck, team! The Conference kicks off next week across 29th & 30th of August – check out the full program here (https://humaninsights.com.au/) to find out more.
