West Aussies Spending Up Big This Christmas

With Christmas fast approaching, we thought we’d ask West Aussies how much they’re planning to spend on presents this year 

Over n=628 responded to our poll and, reflecting the strength of the WA economy this year, it seems consumers aren’t holding back! The average West Australian is planning to spend almost $600 on presents, and almost a third are planning to spend $800 or more… 

 

Not surprisingly there are some key differences across the community. Those on lower incomes, lower age brackets and not currently working have the smallest budgets, with average spends in the $400-$500 range. Families and those with annual household incomes above $100,000 have the highest budgets, with average spends of $700 or more.
