Harmony Week

March 18, 2026

Harmony Week has started strong and also been a great reminder of just how diverse our Pack really is. Across the team, there’s a wide mix of cultural backgrounds, traditions, and stories and this week has given us a chance to bring those to life. Rather than just talking about it in the abstract, people have been sharing dishes, snacks, and flavours that reflect where they’re from or what they grew up with.

Each plate has come with a bit of context – why it matters, when it’s eaten (and how), and what memories are tied to it. There’s been a lot of nostalgia in the mix, with people sharing childhood favourites and the stories behind them. Britain kicked things off strong today with a spread of classic snacks (Mini Cheddars, tea cakes, Scampi flavour Fries, Percy Pigs and Scones) with some additions from South Africa (Koeksister – a fried donut that’s served cold – delicious) and some treats from China – Want-want – and I can tell you, we wanted them a lot. Salty, crunchy, the tiniest bit sweet.

The plan is to keep it going throughout the week: more plates, more stories, and more chances to try something new. The scones attracted a bit of attention …which is put on first: cream or jam? There’s one obvious answer but we did have to sit through a long-winded explanation on why the cream should be put on first (traditionally clotted cream, which melts into the scone). We were also given a pronunciation reminder that it’s ‘scone’ not ‘sconn’ as West Aussies say. Whoops.

It’s exactly the kind of small but fun moment that captures what the week is about—sharing, learning, and connecting over things that feel familiar to someone, even if they’re new to you.

Please enjoy some photos of scones being dressed both incorrectly and correctly:
